Baby sleep is the best.
Not just because it’s time for mom to relax and get things done, but I used to just love watch my daughter during naps. She began sleeping through the night around 3 months. We were very fortunate to have a good sleeper. But we really couldn’t have done it without the help of these products below. Collectively, they saved us and helped us stay sane during the first year. My daughter is 18 months now, but we still use a majority of these things.
Before I go into the breakdown of my baby sleep must haves, my number one tip is to always feed your baby before a nap or bedtime to stretch out the sleep time!
This always worked so well for us. My daughter’s naps would range from 2-3 hours and night time sleep from 7-12 hours. It was always different during the first few months, but we always had long stretches when I fed her before sleeping and napping.

- Swaddle Me swaddles
These Swaddle Me swaddles come in so many adorable designs. We had at least six of these on hand. They come in packs of two and are very affordable. I loved putting them in the diaper bag just in case we were at grandma and grandpa’s and needed to nap. They are so easy to use and the velcro helps baby stay nice and snug. - Magic Merlin Sleep Suit
Once my daughter started was strong enough to bust her arms out of the Swaddle Me Swaddles, we switched to this Magic Merlin Sleep Suit. She looked like the Michelin Man when she was asleep (soooo cute) but this suit was amazing. It kept her nice and cozy and she slept through the night in it. It helps with the startle reflex that they develop within the first few months. I loved this and always wondered if they had an adult version haha! - Hatch Baby Sound Machine
The Hatch Baby Sound Machine is awesome because you can control it from your phone using the Hatch app. There are different sounds and volumes to choose from. You can schedule when you want it to turn on and off. My daughter preferred the white noise to help her sleep. It drowns out the background noise and resembles the inside of mama’s womb. It can also double as a night light! - Soft Baby Blanket
I love the baby blankets from Target. My daughter uses this now to sleep with at night now that she is a toddler. It’s not safe to leave a blanket inside the crib when they are babies. For supervised naps I loved to putting this blanket on her to keep her cozy and warm. - Cloud Humidifier
It gets pretty cold and dry in Colorado so this was a lifesaver. My daughter had her first cold at three months old (once we started her in daycare) and lots of fluids, rest and the humidifier helped her pass her cold fairly quickly. The cloud design is so cute and it’s easy to refill the reservoir with water. It doubles as a lamp and has many color options. - Infant Optics Baby Monitor
We still use this monitor now that she is a toddler. It doesn’t require WiFI connection, just in distance signal within your home. I can take this into the kitchen, the garage, into the backyard and still get a good signal into my baby’s room. The battery life and picture quality is great. - SnuggleMe Lounger
I loved using the SnuggleMe. It made me so sad when she grew out of it because she loved it! I love how soft it was and the bumpers helped keep baby nice and snug for naps. A big bonus is how cute it really is. I used this to take monthly milestone photos. - Avent Pacifier
These are the pacifiers they send home with you at the hospital. I love these. They are cheap. They are easy to replace because they sell them everywhere. - Evenflo Pacifier
These are super similar to the Avent pacifier. The nipples are the same shape. I love these just a tiny bit more than the Avent pacifiers because they are lightweight and not as heavy. - Top and Bottom Zip up onesies
Onesies that zip up from the top and the bottom are a must have! These ones are so soft and comfortable. The top and bottom zipper is a must for easy diaper changes in the middle of the night. I highly recommend these! - Pacifier Clip (Amazon)
I don’t know why I didn’t start using the pacifier clip until about 5 months old. At first, my daughter was losing her pacifier and would cry for it. Having the pacifier clip saved us from sneaking in the middle of the night to find her pacifier. I loved these from Amazon. - Pacifier Clip (Target)
Target carries the cutest durable pacifier clips too! - Black Out Curtains
These black our curtains are adorable! I love that the stars peek in a little bit, but still keep the room dark. I like the little bit of light because (I believe) it helps my daughter differentiate day and night. They are super durable!
