I make these chocolate chip cookies for my friends and family for all special occasions and they love them.

They are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I’m not sure how it works, but the chocolate chips stay melty inside even at room temperature. I’m pretty sure it’s wizardry! I recently started making them with my daughter and she has lots of fun helping me in her toddler kitchen step stool. It took many trials to get this cookie recipe right and i’m happy to share with it with you all! The little bit of molasses adds a nice smokey flavor and balances the sweetness of the cookie. Try this chocolate chip cookie recipe, you won’t be disappointed!

Chocolate Chip Cookies by Lunietunies
Ingredients
2 sticks of room temperature unsalted butter
½ cup of granulated sugar
1 cup of dark brown sugar
2 room temperature large eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla bean extract
1 tablespoon of molasses
2 ¼ cup of all purpose bleached flour
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of baking powder
2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp of baking soda
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. I like to use the convection setting for evenness, but if you don’t have it, normal is perfectly fine too!
2. Whisk together all the dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder) together in a separate bowl.
3. Cream your butter and sugar (both granulated and brown) together until it’s all evenly mixed together.
4. Slowly add your eggs one by one. Then add the vanilla bean extract and molasses. (*Tip: I like to break the eggs into a small bowl separately. I’ve had disasters in the past when I got eggshells into the batter and had to start over.) Mix on medium high for about 4 minutes until the mixture is fluffy and a light brown color.
5. Add your dry ingredient mixture ⅓ cup at a time until all combined. Don’t over mix!
6. Add two cups of chocolate chips (or more if you like them more chocolatey) and continue to mix until the chocolate chips are evenly distrubuted.
7. Using a cookie scoop, scoop cookies about two inches apart on an unlined baking sheet.
8. Bake the cookies in your preheated oven for 8-9 minutes. If they are a golden brown color, they’re done!
9. Let the cookies cool on a cookie rack for at least five minutes before eating.
I hope you enjoy this recipe! It’s super fun and easy to make with your kiddo.

The Calphalon baking trays are the best to bake with. My mom in law introduced me to these and now I have two sets of these in my kitchen. They are sturdy and will last you for years!
My favorite brand of vanilla bean extract! I luckily stumbled on a bottle of this at Home Goods one day and it became my favorite.
The only brand of molasses I use in my baking. I’ve tried many other brands, but this one was the best tasting.
