How did I hear about the Breville Smart Oven Air?
I was obsessed with perfecting French macarons over the summer. They are fun and delicious to make! Anybody who has made french macarons knows how much a pain in the butt they are to make since they are so many little things that can mess up an entire batch. Some of these little factors include: the meringue, the folding of ingredients, your oven temperature, etc. (the list goes on and on..) I’ve made tons of batches in my home convectional oven and the results are always different and it became so frustrating! I soon learned that it was because the heat in my oven that wasn’t distributing evenly from using my oven thermometer. I did research on the best counter top convectional oven and found the Breville Smart Oven Air. This little guy became a staple in my kitchen very quickly!

I took the plunge and ordered the oven.
The oven was directly shipped from Breville and came pretty fast! Within the week of ordering the oven, I was already practicing a batch of macarons using it. The design and interface of this oven is very intuitive. I plugged it in and dove right in to using it. I do suggest reading the manual to familiarize yourself with the functions.

My observations:
I found that the temperature on this oven is pretty spot on. At 300 degrees, my oven thermometer would read 295-300 continuously. This was a game changer for me. My home oven would sometimes bounce in 20 degree increments. Through just few batches of trial and error and baking with the convection setting turned on, I could now finally produce consistent macarons every single time. Most of it had to do with the oven! This little counter top oven is a powerhouse and if it can bake the most finicky cookie in the world, I’m sold. I even started selling my macarons locally for about six months and they sold out every single time I had a variety box.
There is a heating unit on top of the oven. I noticed that if I bake on the top position things do get brown/crispy quicker. I suggest baking on the lower positions to prevent that from happening.

I don’t just bake macarons in this little guy.
I’ve used this oven to bake other cookies, breads, dinner staples (baked fish, chicken, frozen meals, French fries, pizza and roasted potatoes) and breakfast (toast, waffles and hash browns). The air fryer option on this oven is a great way to crisp things up without using a ton of oil. You can even roast an entire 14 pound turkey in this oven. The Breville Smart Oven Air has pretty much replaced our main oven.
The Breville Smart Oven Air is easy to use, quick to pre heat, speeds up cooking time and requires minimum maintenance. I would recommend this little powerful guy to anyone.
I also recommend these bundle of trays, racks and baking sheets. The quality is great and they fit perfectly into the Breville Smart Oven Air.
